Halina Edwards (b. Jamaica) is a Jamaican-British contemporary textile artist, sculptor, and workshop facilitator based in London.
Materiality functions as an active archive within Edwards’ practice. She works with bamboo, cellophane, leather, nylon, shells, and tissue paper to bind, layer, and tie materials into hanging and freestanding sculptures. Her work investigates how these materials function as visual tools while referencing their spiritual and commercial histories, informed by Caribbean and Afro-Atlantic practices and experience across the diaspora and within the region. Alongside her practice, she facilitates intergenerational art workshops for community groups and galleries.
Artistic commissions include Uniqlo (2024); Crafts Council (2023), and Create London (2021). Workshop facilitation includes South London Gallery (2026); Milan Design Week (2025); Uniqlo, UK (2024); Museum of the Home, UK (2023); Dortmunder-U, Germany (2022) and Flock Together, UK (2021/2022).
